Disease & Pest Diagnosis

We identify what's making your tree sick and recommend a treatment path — or removal if it's too late.

When your tree doesn’t look right

Yellowing leaves out of season. Dieback at the crown. Mushrooms at the base. Holes in the bark. Sticky residue on the leaves or your car parked underneath. Each of these means something specific — and the right response depends on what’s actually wrong.

Calling out an arborist before symptoms get severe is almost always cheaper than waiting until removal is the only option.

What we check

  • Crown — color, density, dieback patterns, leaf abnormalities
  • Trunk — bark damage, oozing, conks (fungal fruiting bodies), cavities, cracks
  • Base & roots — fungal growth, soil compaction, root flare condition, girdling
  • Pest signs — borer holes, frass, webbing, scale, aphids, mites
  • Site conditions — drainage, recent construction damage, soil pH if relevant

Common pressures in Georgia

Southern pine beetle, emerald ash borer, fall webworm, hypoxylon canker, root rots from prolonged wet soil. We’ll tell you what we see, what’s treatable, and what isn’t. Some conditions can be managed for years. Others mean the tree should come down before it fails on its own.

What you get

An honest assessment, in plain English. If there’s a treatment path that makes economic and ecological sense, we’ll explain it. If the tree is past the point of saving, we’ll say so — and you can decide whether to remove it now or monitor it. We don’t push treatment for trees that can’t be saved.
